FIFA World Cup 2022 in Qatar
In light of the Messiah devotional themes over the course of 2022 (Imago Dei etc), I’ve been curious to know what thoughts (if any) that christians may have about Qatar 2022 with the biggest sporting tournament on the planet engulfed in some controversy (not for the first time) around the host nation.I know it is a tournament I still will be watching because of the unifying power of the game

I feel like the uproar should have started before Qatar were made hosts. At this point, the ship really has sailed. I think there is still a lot of attention to those issues of human rights abuses, repression of women, and other vices that have been brought to light. Outside of that, I am excited about the World Cup. The opening ceremony was epic.
