Hello, Holy Spirit Devotional Week 1: Hello, Comforter

Hello, Comforter

The Holy Spirit doesn’t always take away the pain when we want, nor does He change the hearts of those who hurt us in the moment we expect. But He guards our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus, wrapping us in His peace that surpasses all understanding. The Holy Spirit doesn’t remove the suffering, but He comforts us within it. He is the Comforter, meeting us in our grief and lifting us beyond our comprehension, holding us steady as we navigate pain.

As Jesus, fully human and fully divine, showed us how to bear pain without letting it define us, the Holy Spirit empowers us to walk in that same freedom. The Spirit reminds us that Jesus endured judgment, bore the pain others caused, and carried the weight of the world’s sins. Through the Holy Spirit, Jesus continues to carry our wounds, offering healing and hope.

The Holy Spirit whispers that He is pursuing the lost sheep—even those who cause us pain. His heart is that none would perish, not even those who have wronged us. In our suffering, the Holy Spirit intercedes for us and invites us to pray for those who have hurt us. He strengthens us to hold space for their redemption while caring for our wounded hearts.

Through the pain, the Holy Spirit teaches us that our role isn’t to change others but to trust in Him. His voice calls even to those who cannot yet hear. Our part, through the Spirit’s guidance, is to intercede, to love, and to allow Him to transform both our hearts and theirs. In this, we find His presence—faithful, healing, and always drawing us closer to the Father’s heart.

Let’s Pray.
