Truth Devo Week 12 – Scripture God’s Will & Your Calling

Truth Devo

Reflection

Like soldiers in training, we cannot skip the small drills. Imagine a recruit in boot camp, learning the basics, how to march, hold a weapon, and follow orders, before being sent on a real mission. God’s assignments work the same way. Every small task He gives us speaks truth. Serving faithfully in challenging circumstances and acting righteously when it’s unpopular prepares us for greater missions in His kingdom.

God's Will

Faithfulness in these small assignments builds readiness for eternal impact. It sharpens our character, strengthens our courage, and trains our faith to respond under pressure. Disobedience, however, has consequences. Cain’s story serves as a sobering reminder. God gave him a clear assignment, yet he rejected it. By choosing rebellion, Cain not only defied God but also forfeited the opportunity to fulfill his purpose. His failure stands as a warning about turning away from God’s bigger plan.

Every task we complete, no matter how small, becomes a stage for God to display His power, faithfulness, and glory. Even when the world sees our obedience as weakness, fear, or risk, God uses it to accomplish His will. The mission may seem dangerous, unpopular, or invisible to others, yet each act of faithful obedience positions us to advance His kingdom in ways we cannot fully see.

Faithful obedience is not about gaining recognition. It is about trusting God’s design, submitting to His will, and having the courage to act, even when the mission seems risky. Like a soldier who completes every drill, prepares for every mission, and follows every order, we too must honor God’s assignments. Each step taken in obedience strengthens us for the battles ahead and contributes to His eternal plan.
