Truth Devo Week 14 – Re-Engage: Finding Your People

Truth Devo

In the Army, every soldier has a defined responsibility, from leaders to medics to cooks. When one is untrained, undisciplined, or unprepared, a gap is created, and it can compromise the entire team in battle. The enemy does not attack the strongest point; he exploits the weakest. What appears to be an individual gap becomes a collective risk.

re-engage

The same is true in the Kingdom of God. A poorly trained soldier creates collective gaps. Our weaknesses, whether hidden sin, spiritual immaturity, or disobedience, do more than slow our growth; they create gaps that weaken the spiritual, emotional, and relational strength of those around us. Your readiness strengthens others, and your neglect endangers them.

Just as Jesus carefully chose His disciples and trained them, the Body of Christ relies on every believer to grow, serve, and strengthen the whole. Under His grace, mercy, and guidance, the disciples became equipped to carry God’s mission, protecting and building up the community of believers through the Holy Spirit and the truth of Scripture.

In God’s Army, a dull blade is not useless, but it is ineffective. God calls us to sharpen ourselves in community, to grow in maturity, and to remain spiritually ready. When we commit to growth, discipline, and accountability, we strengthen ourselves and close gaps, protecting the Body of Christ.
