In A Black Hole For Years, Juanita Bynum Shares Struggle With Pride

Dr. Juanita Bynum, prophet, author, and singer, recently shared her struggle with pride with CBN News. During the interview, Bynum said she had been in a black hole for 14 years. She expressed gratitude to God for those years to rid her of pride. Dr. Bynum now helps other ministers avoid the same mistake through the Leadership Intensive Institute.
Juanita Bynum Shares Struggle With Pride
Dr. Juanita Bynum described the ‘Black Hole’ as a place in her ministry where she became dependent on fame and who people said she was rather than depending on the Lord. In her words,
“I was everywhere. I think I had become stagnated in the fame of who I had become, and I was living off of the residue of who the people said I was. And I believe that somewhere within me, I stopped growing.”
Dr. Bynum continued,
“Keep growing, no matter how big you get or what you are called to do. There will always be a work the Lord leaves undone in you that you are to pursue after Him as a person.”
She urged ministers never to live off the residue of what people say they are.
During the interview with CBN, Dr. Bynum emphasized that she is now in a place of ‘Servitude of the Lord.’ She referred to Job 14:7-9 (NKJV).
“For there is hope for a tree, If it is cut down, that it will sprout again, And that its tender shoots will not cease. Though its root may grow old in the earth. And its stump may die in the ground. Yet at the scent of water it will bud And bring forth branches like a plant.”
She buttressed;
“I am into the servitude of the Lord, not so much of the ministry of who I am or the fame of the name Juanita Bynum.”
She thanked God for helping her be in that black hole to rid her of pride.
She said,
“I am grateful every day that that situation happened to me, and I remained in that place all those years because the Lord had an opportunity to dig into every area of my life. He saved me from a system that would have destroyed me, had I kept going.”
The journalist who interviewed her inquired about the Leadership Intensive Institute. Dr. Bynum described ‘Quick Ascension,’ which some people engage in by leveraging family and friends to become ministers or pastors. She emphasized that such people do not realize the depth of the assignment. She said the making of the minister is where the work is.
Dr. Bynum affirmed that she can help such ministers through the Leadership Intensive Institute. She said many ministers are trapped in the pride problem but find it challenging to come out because they do not want people to know they are undone. Dr. Bynum provides guidance through the Leadership Intensive Institute to help ministers reposition themselves for ministry. This repositioning allows ministers to avoid the place where she was at.
