Soul Snatchers is a supernatural thriller that centers on Emmanuel, a man of strong convictions who relocates his family to the island where he grew up, with the mission of building a music school for the orphaned children there. However, beneath the island’s beautiful landscape lurks a dark force that begins to unravel his mission and his family, leading to a battle that threatens not only their lives but also their souls.

Award-winning actor Cameron Arnett, who stars as Emmanuel in Soul Snatchers, hopes that the movie helps believers rethink spiritual warfare and the power they have through Christ.

Soul Snatchers, the Movie: Rethinking the Church’s Fear About Spiritual Warfare

Actor Cameron Arnett believes Christians should be involved in conversations about spiritual warfare, and he hopes his latest film, Soul Snatchers, will challenge believers not to shy away from the supernatural and become aware of the power they have through Christ.

According to the Christian Post, Cameron Arnett said:

We are supposed to be the ones who understand the supernatural power of God and bring the supernatural power of God to bear upon all society. People will get an opportunity to see the power of God over evil. That’s what we really want to happen.”

Soul Snatchers is a supernatural thriller that follows Emmanuel, a man passionate about serving orphaned kids on the remote island where he grew up, on a bold mission to build a music school for them. He relocated his family to the island, but the island is no longer the place he once knew. It has become a breeding ground for unseen forces that threaten everything he stands for.

Soul Snatchers was directed by Julio Román, who co-wrote the screenplay with Cesar R. Castillo. The film also stars William Oliver, Carla Adell, Rebecca Rogers, and Osvaldo Friger. Soul Snatchers merges supernatural suspense with themes of faith, redemption, and spiritual warfare.

Cameron Arnett also stars in the Kendrick Brothers films, The Forge and Overcomer, and now Soul Snatchers. He represents an opportunity to push faith-based storytelling into territory he lamented the Church has too often neglected.

The supernatural can be a horrific thing if you don’t understand it,” he said. “But it’s actually the answer that God has made the Church to be. We are the supernatural answer to all of the fears of the world.”

Scripture, Arnett added, presents a reality in which God has already defeated evil, yet many Christians fail to live with that confidence.

I think in the United States we’ve become very practical in our perspective of Christianity,” Arnett said. “We actually serve a God who’s not linear. He’s above and beyond time and all existence.”

Rather than changing his views on spiritual warfare, Arnett said playing Emmanuel in Soul Snatchers expanded them by giving audiences a visual picture of biblical truth. Many churches, he emphasized, proclaim God’s supernatural power while living as though miracles belong only to biblical times.
