Hello, Holy Spirit Devotional Week 36 – Hello, Victory

Devotional

It was a normal day at work when it happened. The moment that shifted everything. There I was, trying to collaborate, trying to build something together, only to find one person on my team who refused to engage. She withheld compassion, ignored my requests, and left me carrying the weight of a project I couldn’t complete alone. The silence she offered was far more painful than any harsh word could have been. Every day, her indifference created a wall of resistance, and with each passing day, my anxiety grew. Deadlines slipped away, and with them, my sense of control and peace.

I fought back. I fought for justice, for fairness, for respect. I raised my concerns, hoping someone would listen, but instead, I was met with silence from leadership. I was understood, but ultimately ignored, a feeling all too familiar. The team culture was built on something entirely different than what I valued. It wasn’t built on collaboration or compassion, but rather on resistance, apathy, and an unwillingness to compromise.

Hello, Victory: Embracing Triumph Through Resistance

In those moments, I wanted to give up. I wanted to walk away from it all, to avoid the tension, to escape the constant feeling of frustration and helplessness. But when God begins to show us something deeper, something we can’t see at first, it’s as though a light shines through the darkness.

Psalm 30:5 echoes in our hearts. “Joy comes in the morning.” In the midst of the resistance, we must cling to that truth. It is never easy. It’s still not easy for me. Every day, I face resistance, not just in my work, but in my personal life as well. The resistance of others doesn’t have to dictate our peace. Joy comes in the morning, and it’s a joy that surpasses the daily challenges we may face. It’s the joy of pushing through the resistance, of choosing compassion over anger, of finding grace in the midst of adversity. And each time I do, I see more of God’s work in me, shaping me into someone who can love even when it’s hard, even when the world resists.

TAKE ACTION

– Identify one area where you’re facing resistance this week, whether in your work or personal life, and choose to respond with grace instead of anger.
