Hello, Holy Spirit Devotional Week 38 – Hello, Abundance

You have all that you need.
At the hallmark of Jesus’ mission on Earth is one profound truth: we are joined with God, the Father, and now stand as joint-heirs to His throne. His sacrifice on the cross removed every barrier—sin, separation, and shame—so that we could walk in an unhindered relationship with God and experience His abundance.
Before His death, Jesus made His disciples a promise:
“I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you…. On that day, you will realize that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you.” — John 14:18, 20
This statement is staggering. In a world that often feels fleeting and unpredictable, Jesus assures us that we are eternally connected to Him. And if we are one with God, then all that belongs to Him belongs to us—love, joy, peace, authority, dominion, wisdom, provision, and so much more.
The parable of the Prodigal Son echoes this truth. When the older son questions why his wayward brother receives a celebration while he, the faithful son, does not, the father replies:
“Son, you are always with me, and all that is mine is yours.” — Luke 15:31
Pause for a moment. Let that sink in.
God is not withholding anything from you. His abundance is not limited to finances; it is a fullness of life that touches every aspect of your being. This is Abundance.
The psalmist captures it perfectly:
“That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither—whatever they do prospers.” — Psalm 1:3
God repeated this promise to Joshua, urging him to meditate on His Word day and night so that he would be prosperous and successful (Joshua 1:8). It is through deep communion with God—through meditation, prayer, and obedience—that the Holy Spirit reveals divine truths, insights, and instructions for abundant living.
“He will not speak on His own; He will speak only what He hears, and He will tell you what is yet to come.” — John 16:13
This is how men like Jacob thrived under the manipulation of Laban. This is how Joseph, a foreigner and former slave, rose to govern Egypt and steward generational wealth. In a time of famine, Egypt prospered because one man heard from God.
Abundance is not about favorable circumstances—it is about access. The wisdom of God, the leading of the Holy Spirit, and the principles of His kingdom ensure that no matter the external conditions, you flourish.
“And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.” — 2 Corinthians 9:8
