Hello, Holy Spirit Devotional Week 52 – Hello, Truth
Truth is not only in Scripture; truth is the Person
David knew God through Israel’s story, but in the ordinary rhythms and hidden dangers of his work, he had to learn to rely on Him daily. Every lion, every bear, and every moment alone in the field required him to trust God. For a shepherd like David, life in the fields was extremely dangerous. One mistake could cost him his life.

Unlike modern work environments, where injuries can happen but death is rare, David faced constant life-and-death threats. His confidence came from believing in God’s faithfulness to His people, yet each day in the field, as he faced lions, bears, and other dangers, his trust became real. In those moments, relying on God as the living Truth was not optional; it was essential for survival.
Hello Truth!
Faith That Is Reliable, Not Theoretical
Trust in God is not a concept or an idea; it is a necessity for survival. David’s faith was cultivated through daily experiences where courage and skill met danger. Trusting God meant stepping forward with what he had while knowing the outcomes rested in His hands.
Covenant and Its Eternal Significance
Faith grows in ordinary, dangerous, and uncertain moments. It is active, experiential, and rooted in a willingness to seek God with what you have, trusting Him even when the outcome is unknown and relying on His faithfulness to prevail. While David reminds us to look at God as a person and not only at Scripture, Jesus makes it clear that He Himself is the Truth. In every decision, every challenge, and every ordinary moment, the reality of who Jesus is becomes tangible, shaping our reality.

PERSONAL REFLECTION
Who is Jesus to me, and how does that understanding shape the way I rely on Him?
Where in my life am I depending more on my own skills, plans, or desires than on God’s favor and His promised outcomes?
How am I cultivating active, dependable faith in the ordinary, unseen, and sometimes dangerous moments of my day?
In what areas do I need to surrender control and trust Jesus for protection, provision, and guidance, even when the outcome is uncertain, yet guaranteed?
How can I allow the reality of who Jesus is, the Living Truth, to guide my decisions and actions daily?
TAKE ACTION
Identify one situation today where you feel pressure, fear, or the urge to control the outcome. Recognize that you have what it takes to act, just as David had skill and courage as a shepherd. Surrender the situation to God, trust His protection and guidance, and step forward expecting His faithful provision.
CONCLUSION
David’s faith was not abstract. It was forged in the real dangers of his daily work. Truth is not only in Scripture; it is the Person. Jesus is the Truth, and knowing Him personally transforms every step we take, every choice we make, and every fear we face.
