Church Leaders Say ‘Great Commission’ Could Be Completed ‘In Our Lifetime’

According to the Christian Broadcasting Network (CBN), world Christian leaders recently met in Texas, United States, to focus on the global Church, the Great Commission, and reaching the whole world with the good news of Christ. The leaders came from several nations and denominations to Dallas, Texas, to discuss what the Holy Spirit is saying about taking the Gospel to the ends of the earth.

Church Leaders Say The Great Commission Could Be Completed In Our Lifetime

The founder of the Global Church Network, Dr. James Davis, told CBN News that its mission is threefold: Synergize, Mobilize, and Finalize. He emphasized that it is about finishing.

In Dr. Davis’ words,

We exist to help synergize the body of Christ to help mobilize Christian leaders to help finalize the Great Commission. It’s about finishing. For so long, we as a church have said one day, we’re going to complete the Great Commission, but it’s time now to do that. And so, we synergize, mobilize, and finalize.”

Dr. Davis told CBN News that we are getting close to seeing the Great Commission finalized. He says it could happen in our lifetime. He says we are getting close on many fronts.

First, Dr. James Davis said we are getting close relationally. He asserted that relationship currency is the greatest currency in the world. He said the church leaders believe that the shortest distance between two points is not a straight line but a close relationship. He explained further, saying that if the body of Christ would reach the world with the good news, then we must work together. That explains synergy, and it is the first piece of the puzzle.

Dr. Davis continued,

The second piece is mobilize; mobilize and Bible translation. There is a massive uptick on Bible translation to get it all finished, every language done, and it’s rapidly happening on a global scale. It’s happening evangelistically. More people are coming to Christ today than ever in the history of the world.”

Dr. Davis emphasized the need for more workers in the field, saying that ‘there is a boat problem, not a fish problem.’

He said,

“Jesus said the harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few. We must have more full-time Gospel preaching, church planting, men and women of God around the world like never before to finish. And so, we have set strategic goals to help equip 1 million new ministers by 2030.”
