Hello, Holy Spirit Devotional Week 5 – Hello, Peace

Be anxious for nothing.

peace

How can we even fathom these words in today’s world? With wars and rumors of wars, political strife, social inequality, and human suffering—from hunger to child trafficking—an undercurrent of anxiety seems unavoidable. Even a brief glance at the news reminds us of the darkness and brokenness surrounding us. We live in a fractured world, among broken people, while grappling with our own brokenness.

Yet, God often reveals His wholeness through our very brokenness. As 2 Corinthians 4:7 declares, “We have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us.” It is in our weakness that His power shines most brightly.

The early disciples understood this truth. Despite enduring persecution, ridicule, and violence for their faith, they proclaimed the Gospel with fearless peace—a peace given only by the Holy Spirit. Paul, who had once been a zealous persecutor of Christians, preached with boldness even after being stoned and left for dead. Today, countless believers worship God in secrecy, fully aware that discovery could mean death. This peace is not an ordinary calm; it is the peace of God that anchors the soul, even in the most perilous situations.

Consider Daniel, thrown into a den of lions for his unwavering commitment to prayer. He faced imminent death with a peace rooted in trust. His faith in the God who sees all transcended human understanding, and that same peace carried him safely through his trial.

This is the peace God offers—a peace that remains unshaken, no matter the storm.

Hello, Peace.

Personal Reflection

  1. Spend time meditating on Philippians 4:6–7 this week.
  2. Identify the things that bring anxiety to your heart. Each time these worries arise, say: “Lord, I give this to You.”
  3. Remember His promise: “Do not be afraid, for I am with you.”

Take Action: Living Out Matthew 3:11

  1. Meditation: Create a list of 7–14 Bible verses that focus on peace. Find verses online or in a concordance, and write them down. Each day this week, reflect on one or two of these verses, allowing God’s truth to replace any worry.
  2. Share Your Testimony: If you experience a breakthrough in peace, share your story at info@godkulture.org.
