Pain Brings Fulfillment: Using Your Pain to Fuel Purpose Fulfillment

Pain is an aspect of life that we cannot do without. We all get to feel pain in different forms, from the day we breathe our first to the day we take our last breath. While pain is a universal experience, though varying in nature and intensity, some people make the most of it while others get knocked down.
You were designed with a purpose in God’s mind. If you are going to fulfill that purpose, you must understand that your pain can be the fuel to propel you toward purpose fulfillment. Join us on this journey to discover how to handle pain on the path to purpose fulfillment.
Channeling Pain to Fuel Purpose Fulfillment
Let’s look at the journey of purpose as pregnancy, with fulfillment being the point at which the woman gives birth to her baby. Pregnancy is scarcely convenient. A woman’s life changes the moment she takes in. She begins to experience changes within her body, which she may not be comfortable with.
For some women, they experience morning sickness, which is never pleasant. Then come the cravings and discomfort that come with the pregnancy. While experiencing all these unwanted changes, something special is growing inside her womb. Because of that, she is patient enough to go through the process, believing that soon, her baby will be birthed, and that would be the end of the pain.
Our lives, as Christians, are similar to a pregnant woman. The baby is our purpose that must be fulfilled, and the gestation period is our purpose journey. How do you deal with this pain to make it fuel purpose fulfillment? Here are three important things to note:
Anticipate the endpoint
“For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.” – Hebrews 12:2b (NIV)
Jesus Christ is our perfect example. He came to the earth to save the ones He created from their sin. Yet, He had to suffer pain and death at their hands. Imagine the pain.
Despite the pain He experienced, Christ didn’t give up because He anticipated the endpoint. He looked forward to the joy that He would experience once He fulfilled His purpose, which propelled Him toward fulfilling His purpose despite the pain He was experiencing in the present.
Like Jesus Christ, anticipate the endpoint whenever you experience pain on your path toward purpose fulfillment. The joy you will experience afterward will keep you going.
Draw strength from the process
Despite a pregnant woman’s groanings, she knows that the pain is only temporary. So she keeps going on, no matter how stressed she is. She draws strength from the process because it will empower her when it is finally time to give birth to her child.
Let the pain you are experiencing now motivate you to fulfill your purpose. Draw strength from the process, no matter how unpleasant it may seem. Remember, the more discomfort, the closer you are to birthing fulfillment.
Put your faith in God
God is the giver of purpose. If you are going to fulfill your purpose, you must constantly look up to Him. Jeremiah 29:11 tells us that God has a plan for us, and that plan is good.
Consistently study the Word and spend time in prayer. As you do this, you draw encouragement and strength to face your pain and convert it to fuel that will propel you toward fulfillment.
Conclusion
Feed off that pain you are feeling to propel yourself toward purpose fulfillment. Rather than losing steam and staying discouraged, let it fire you up. Like a pregnant woman, keep looking forward to your delivery date. Fulfillment will come soon. While you tarry, let your pain be your bread.
