‘The Chosen’ Director Dallas Jenkins Discusses New Series About Book of Acts

The Chosen Director Shares Vision of New Series About Book of Acts

The Chosen has four seasons and thirty-four episodes so far. The Chosen is expected to have seven seasons in all. Director Dallas Jenkins says he is focused on season five at the moment, but he would love to develop a new series on the Book of Acts once he is done. He says season seven will feature scenes from the beginning of the Book of Acts, spotlighting the “launch of the ministry of the disciples.”

In Jenkins’s words, “We’re not going to go very far in the book of Acts at the end of Season 7, but I would absolutely love — and I’m hopeful — that I can continue telling the story of the birth of the church and the greatest moment in history. So right now, I’m just focused on Season 5.” He told media members during a virtual news conference.

In a seeming joke previously, Jenkins remarked, “After I nap for about a year when The Chosen is done, we’ve got other Bible stories to tell because the demand seems to be so strong.”

Season Four of The Chosen debuted on The Chosen App and launched on Prime Video barely one month later, on July 1, 2024.
